FAQ

Will you write my child’s essay for him/her/them?
  • No, we will not write your child’s essay. Not only would it be unethical, but it is also counterproductive as application readers are excellent at detecting when the student has not authored their own essay. It’s known that among admissions committees they can easily identify these essays and the applicant is impacted negatively.
At one point in the application cycle should the student begin working on their essay?
  • We recommend that the student begin seriously thinking about the application essay sometime during the summer before senior year. There are a lot of deadlines for seniors, particularly if they are applying Early Decision in the fall, so it's smart to get going on the brainstorming and rough draft of the essay before the end of the summer after junior year. Also, please consider the student's affinity for writing and plan accordingly. Some kids are naturals at selecting engaging meaningful topics and getting them down on paper, while others may need more time to conceive of and execute an essay they feel represents them.
